A few important dates in the history of the FRANCEMETAL group

1977: Francemetal is founded by Jacques Choquard, an Arts & Métiers (mechanics and industrialisation) engineer, assisted by his wife Anne Choquard.

1990: Purchase of the first pair of numerically controlled tandem press brakes. The maximum bending length increases to 14 metres. Francemetal becomes “the metal couturier”.

1990: Installation of a second production site in Marboué (Eure-et-Loir region).

1992: Founding of a subsidiary in Portugal: GALCOPOR.

2001: Founding of a trading subsidiary in Romania: GALCOROM.

2002: Francemetal becomes a holding company, with 2 simplified joint stock companies in France – FM Sud in Labenne (Landes region) and FM Nord in Marboué (Eure-et-Loir region) – and two subsidiaries abroad, GALCOPOR (Portugal) and GALCOROM (Romania). The holding company remains at its original site in Labenne.

2007: Francemétal becomes a limited company with a supervisory board and a board of directors. The supervisory board is chaired by Jacques Choquard.

2008: The capital of Francemétal is increased from €540,000 to €1,080,000. That of FM Sud and FM Nord is increased from €50,000 to €100,000.
